Parish Transformation Survey Results
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Parish Transformation Survey earlier this year. Since the beginning of March the Parish Transformation team has been busy using the feedback that you provided to accomplish several goals.
The first goal is to draft a Mission Narrative that sums up who we are as a community and then talks about where we want to go in the future. The second is to build on our strengths and, combined with your input, come up with a direction and some supporting programs that will allow St Teresa’s to remain a vibrant, vital and thriving parish. The focus is on helping everyone in the parish community become more knowledgeable in our faith so that we can share the message of God’s love for us.
The results of the survey were overwhelmingly positive. You can view the quantitative survey responses here. The open-ended survey responses indicated that our community is grateful for our energy, our service to the poor, and our pastor. The survey also indicated additional areas for growth. Primarily, members are looking for more opportunities to learn about their faith, and are in need of additional support during difficult times.
After much discussion and consideration of the survey feedback, the Parish Transformation team has focused on two building blocks: Evangelization and Adult Formation (catechesis). Through evangelization and catechesis we aim to:
- Bring more people into the church so that they may come to know God’s love
- Better welcome new members following their registration as parishioners
- Effectively communicate with our members, visitors and supporters
- Inspire and fuel the love of God within our faith community
- Inspire our members to live their faith throughout their week
- Connect parishioners with each other to form faith-sharing groups and broader support systems
- Support members who are fully engaged and ready to take on lay-leadership roles in the parish
- Continue efforts to increase offertory contributions to support the expenses of our mission
- Investigate additional funding sources to support the parish (grants, etc.)
- Assess our need for additional space to support future growth
