30 Under 40

“30 under 40” is a series of parties, mini-fundraisers, hosted throughout the year by our under 40-year old community. The parties may be open to guests of any age, but are hosted specifically by those under 40 years old. Hosts Still Needed!

We are currently seeking 14 more people to join the inaugural class of 30 under 40 hosts! Sign up to host a fundraising party that will strengthen our community. Get creative and create your own theme, or contact us for some ideas. Want to host, or interested in teaming up with another under-40-something to put together your bash? How do I raise $1,000? As a host, you set the format. You could host a dinner party for 10 with a ticket price of $100, or a backyard BBQ for 50 people for $20 each. We’ve had dinner parties, bar parties, and boat parties.  There’s a December wine tasting and a 5k race in May.  Have kids? Rent a bouncy house and serve some hot dogs and charge a per-family price. Get creative and have fun.   Who do I invite? The parties will be promoted within the parish, but don’t stop there! Invite your friends, your family, your co-workers. This is a great way to get to know the St. Teresa’s community, but an even better way to bring your own circles together to have fun, make friends and support our mission   When are the parties? Parties will take place through December 31st, 2016. The host sets the day and time.   So what do I have to do? First, let us know you are considering. Email Chris at Christopher.parente@gmail.com, and tell him you’d like to be a host. Pick a theme and set a date. Give us the information and we’ll put the party info on the website, in the bulletin, and on our message boards. We will enable online sign ups so that your guests can pay with their credit cards, and even get you customized postcards to pass out to your friends to help you promote your party!   Where does the money go? The proceeds support the ministries and outreach programs at St. Teresa of Avila Church, a dynamic and active Catholic community in the heart of Lincoln Park. St. Teresa of Avila is a welcoming faith community open to all people, without exception.   The proceeds from these fundraisers will ensure that St. Teresa’s numerous outreach programs such as Loaves and Fishes and the Food Pantry will continue to thrive as we as a Parish continue to live out our mission of serving the needs of the poor in our own community.
